Here’s a video clip from a UK 2008 interview where he discusses watching one of those videos with Gillian - You know some of the snoggy videos had to have come up along the side ;)DAVID DUCHOVNY was persuaded to return to his Fox Mulder role by a YouTube clip.The X –Files actor was getting cold feet about making the new movie until a fan posted a montage of him kissing co-star GILLIAN ANDERSON on the video sharing site.
“I was very excited to do the movie, and then as the date approached I started to get scared,” he said. “But somebody pulled up one of these homages to the show on YouTube that has a romantic song, and then all these kisses between Gillian and me, and that was actually really helpful to me, to kind of feel the show again.
“It was very romantic and it was very sweet, and I was like, ‘Oh, I could watch that and then that would help me get into work. So maybe I’ll do it.’ Whoever put that together, I thank them.”

Have you experienced this kind of chemistry in any other films/projects you’ve worked on?
“It’s different. There are shades of it in other projects and films, but there’s just something different with David. That’s the unexplainable bit that I can’t quite put a finger on, and it’s kind of like it was a gift for us to have this experience together. But it’s not necessarily quantifiable.”

“We used to do a thing in the Pilot, it was like, I lost nine minutes! That was like Mulder’s big thing, he lost nine minutes on his watch, and he was convinced that there was alien activity, or like, the aliens hypnotised them or whatever. And we used to do, Gillian and I used to joke about how when we were gonna go to bed, afterwards, you know, I was gonna say, hey! I lost nine minutes! And she was gonna say, God, you only lost nine minutes. You know. Way to go, Mulder.”

DD: I guess. You know, finally — she’d already had my baby so I figured it was time to kiss her. Some weird kind of time warp there.
JS: I kissed her in a movie like two years prior to that, so it’s kind of funny that you got my sloppy seconds.

“The last shot in the picture was Gillian handing David the baby in her bedroom. David leaned over and gave her a kiss, and the camera then pulled back out of the doorway and just kept going down the hall. We got the shot, and we cut it and printed it; the nurse came and took the baby away. And David put his arms around Gillian, and she put her arms around him, and they stood there for about ten minutes, and never said a word to each other. The tears were just rolling down their faces, and the whole crew stood there and watched this in silence. It was truly one of the most emotional experiences I’ve ever witnessed in my life.”
